This pre-contoured internal fixation device is engineered to treat complex, unstable, or displaced fractures of the distal fibula (the outer ankle bone, specifically the lateral malleolus).

• Anatomical Contouring: The plate is structurally twisted and flared at its head to mimic the natural curve of the distal forearm/ankle bones. The distal end tapers into a smooth, low-profile rounded shape designed to minimize screw-head prominence and reduce friction against the thin subcutaneous tissues and tendons covering the ankle.

• Combi-Holes (Shaft): The vertical stem features combination “figure-8” holes. One side of the hole accepts standard cortical screws for dynamic bone-to-plate compression, while the threaded side accepts locking screws to provide rigid, fixed-angle mechanical stability, acting as an internal fixator.

• Distal Screw Cluster: The wider head features clustered, multi-directional locking holes that allow fine, short screws to securely anchor into small, fragile, or osteoporotic bone fragments near the joint space without piercing the ankle articulation.
